Artist Talk: Keith Taylor

This artist talk will feature photographer and master printer Keith Taylor who will talk about historic and alternative photographic processes.

This event is in conjunction with Instinct Gallery's exhibition titled VIBRANT MATTERS, which features the art of David Emitt Adams, David Aschenbrener, Sarina Brewer, Erica Spitzer Rasmussen, Chris Strouth, Michael Thomsen and Keith Taylor. Curated by Luke Erickson and John Schuerman.

Taylor was born in Bromley, England, but since 1996 he has been living in Minneapolis, Minnesota. His photography has been widely exhibited across the US and the UK. Keith is a three-time recipient of Individual Artist Fellowships from the Minnesota State Arts Board and his photographs are held in many private and corporate collections. In 2011 he was awarded a Minnesota Center for Book Arts/Jerome Foundation mentorship.

Keith began his career as a black and white printer in London printing advertising, fashion and editorial images for photographers, which ultimately, won him numerous awards from the Association of Photographers, British Picture Editors’ Awards, and Ilford Photographic.

With over 30 years of experience, Taylor currently offers processing and printing services for photographers using contemporary digital, traditional silver and historical platinum processes. Keith will discuss both his own work and the work of David Emitt Adams as they are both truly laudable artists both working with 19th century printing techniques.
